Talking Balls… ⛳️😂
As a keen hacker, Istill lose golf balls—even though my game is improving—and the golfers I play with certainly still lose plenty, especially on trips abroad to some amazing courses.
The idea for findmyballs.golf started with a simple WhatsApp message.
A friend sent me a photograph of one of my Broderick’s-branded golf balls with the words:

“Where am I?”
I immediately recognised Sandy Lane in Barbados. It made me smile, but it also made me realise that the ball carried only our company name. There was no email address, QR code or call to action.
Then came the real question:
How did my golf ball get to Barbados?
Had he found it at Mere Golf & Country Club, where there are undoubtedly plenty of my balls hiding?
Had I previously lost it at Sandy Lane?
Or, as we later suspected, had a friend I’d given some balls to lost it there while playing?
We never found out—but the debate continued.
Three years later, 20 golfers headed to Sotogrande and the Costa del Sol. This time, we personalised our balls and added an individual QR code carrying a simple message:
SCAN 2 WIN
We recorded how many balls we lost.
At first, nothing happened. No scans. No notifications.
We assumed the balls in the water weren’t going to be found and perhaps the idea wouldn’t work.
Then, on day three, the captain’s log started pinging!
Golfers were scanning the balls, telling us which course and hole they had found them on—and even sending selfies.
Like any new business, the early participants are all winners. The finder becomes the ball’s new guardian, but every scan also enters them into our monthly prize draw for golfing prizes, including premium Pro V1 golf balls.
Will the idea take off?
Close to one billion new golf balls are bought around the world every year—and hundreds of millions are subsequently lost.
With findmyballs.golf:
“The fun goes on long after they have gone.”
Members of our Clubhouse receive notifications when their balls are found and ultimately build a personal map showing where their balls have ended up.
Imagine 20 golfers sitting around the dinner table on a golf trip as notifications begin arriving from the courses they have just played. 😂
The possibilities are enormous:
⛳ Golf trips
Personalised balls for every player, with finds and locations appearing throughout the trip.
⛳ Corporate golf days
A memorable giveaway carrying your company branding, the customer’s name—or both.
⛳ Golf societies
Track balls across an entire season, then award an end-of-season prize for the most finds—or perhaps the most spectacular losses!
⛳ Personal gifts
The ultimate present for the golfer who is always losing balls: personalised, premium balls that continue telling their story after they disappear.
The data becomes even more interesting because the finder—the new guardian—may play the ball, lose it again and create another chapter in its journey.
You genuinely never know where your ball might end up.
We already have finds across England, Ireland, Tenerife, Alicante, the Costa del Sol and Barbados—and the fun is only beginning.
It is a little bit of extra entertainment added to an already incredible social game. It is particularly enjoyable for higher-handicap golfers, who probably buy—and lose—more balls than anyone!
For brands, it creates a marketing product that keeps generating engagement long after the original golf day.
For individuals, it creates a personalised gift with an ongoing story.
For me, it is the ultimate golf present:
Personalised premium Pro V1 golf balls—and the opportunity to discover where they go after you’ve lost them.
